The City of Angels:

DAY 21, 22, 23, 24:

At the end of my trip, I wasn't alone. After my long ride between
Vegas and Los Angeles, I went go and get my girlfriend at the airport. I stayed
alone for a long time, maybe too long.. I was so glad to see her, I
missed her so much. We went to our hotel, The Orlando Hotel. It was just next
to Beverly Hills, it had a pool, and it wasn't too expensive. The
following day, we began by visiting the surroundings of Beverly
Hills. We walked on the Santa Monica Boulevard, and we took the car to go to
Hollywood Boulevard. Surprisingly, we didn't know a lot of the "stars"
on the ground. We saw the famous letters HOLLYWOOD from there. L.A is
disproportionate, on this single boulevard, we spent two hours, and walked
a lot.. I did a little research, and I found that Los Angeles is more than
10 times bigger than Paris ! It is impressive. We ate at a little
restaurant and took the car again to go to the Griffith Park. Exactly
like the city, the park is huge. We rented some bikes and did a little
tour of the park. I didn't notice earlier but it is the park we had
seen when we were on Hollywood Boulevard. The hill where there are the
letters HOLLYWOOD is part of the park. We came back early, because we
went to the basketball match at the mythical arena : The Staples Center. The
game was between the two teams of LA, the Lakers and the Clippers. The
atmosphere was quite special because the two teams played normally at the
same sports hall so at this match there were as many supporters of the
two teams. The Clippers won 105 - 100, it was a fantastic game, until
the last seconds both of the teams could have won.

The day after, we
went to a magical place : the Universal Studios Hollywood. It is an amusement park about the cinema of Hollywood. First we did the Studios
Tour, a guided-tour of the studios. During that tour we did the King
Kong attraction, the most impressive thing I did today. That lasted one
hour. We also did the Simpson attraction. After we went on Lower Lot,
and we saw three amazing shows : Jurassic Park, The Revenge of the
Mummy, and Transformers 3D. Then we went to Citywalk, a place where there were
souvenir shops and some food to eat. We ate there and went on the
second part, Upper Lot. There we also did three attractions :
WaterWorld, Animal Actors and Special Effect Stage. Their names say it all. We really enjoyed the park because it shows us the
background of the movies. We came back to the hotel and enjoyed the pool. The climate of Los Angeles is perfect, it is sunny and
not too hot.

For our third day in Los Angeles, we went to
The Getty Center. It is a very nice museum, on the heights of Santa
Monica. The building is interesting for the modern architecture and for
the view of the Pacific Ocean and the city. There is a great collection
of European and American artwork. It is a museum, so it was not very
exciting compared to the other things we did in LA. We ate in the
restaurant of the Getty Center, which is quite expensive, and we took
the car to the Getty Villa. It is a reconstituated roman house. That was
pretty amazing, I am quite interested in antique Greece and Rome, so I
enjoyed that. The house was big, and there was a huge pool and a fountain,
wow. Afterwards, we went on Santa Monica Beach and had a quick walk. We saw the amusement park above the sea, the Santa Monica Pier. We didn't
spend a lot of time there because we were tired and we will come back
anyway.

DAY 25, 26, 27: Coachella Music & Art Festival.

Early in the morning, we left our room, the car, and took the bus to
go to the airport. But not to leave the country and come back to France.
We took the shuttle between there and Coachella. Normally, this is just
a town in California, but two weekends per year, it is the place to be.
It is one of the biggest music festivals of the world. It was one of my
dreams to go there, now, it's done. During three days, we saw so many
various artists, ones who were just beginning to be famous or stars, like
ACDC and Drake. That was amazing, I listened to so many good music, and
artists that I love. I saw some of the most famous DJs of the world,
like Alesso, Axwell, David Guetta, Madeon, Deorro, Kygo, ODEZA, or RAC. I
saw great musicians and singers like George Ezra, Stromae, Tame Impala,
Hozier and of course ACDC. We met so many very kind people so. We spent such a
great time, definitely the best of the trip throught the United States. I
will keep that memory all my life.

DAY 28, 29: Disneyland.

We spent the night with some new friends we had just met during the
festival in teepies like the night before. These friends brought us to
L.A at midday and we decided to go to DisneyLand even if a big part of
the day had already passed by. We took a two day pass with a night
included in the park. During these two days, we fell back into
childhood. With my girlfriend, we loved, and still love, Disney movies
so we were completely surrounded by our favorite cartoons. The
attractions are quite similar to the French ones, even though in Los
Angeles, people are much nicer and funnier. In fact, this park is the
first one created in the world and it's also the smallest one.
It was a very romantic place, and it was as if we were in a movie. We
met every Disney character and we took pictures with every single one.
We also went shopping, and I bought gloves like Mickey's
hands. We spent a great time and we had lots of fun there.

DAY 30, 31, 32

During these 3 days, we rented a little Volkswagen Van and surfboards. My girlfriend and I loooooove surfing, so we decided to travel along the seaside so we could surf all day long. My girlfriend came with our wetsuits so we could surf at various places where the water is pretty cold. First of all, we started our roadtrip at Long Beach, then we continued to Venise Beach and Santa Monica Beach. There we just visited these beaches because they are very touristic places. We went to Santa Barbara and decided to sleep in our cosy little van. The following day, we kept driving on the C1A road, which follows the seaside. That was perfect for us, we could stop when we wanted and go away easily. During that day, we went to the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, an amazing park, where we discorvered a beautiful cove. We slept not far from there. The day after, we continued our journey, by passing by the city of Monterrey, where we stopped to surf, and then we went to San Jose, and finally, San Francisco.
