The city by the bay.

DAY 32, 33, 34, 35:

First of all, when we arrived at San Francisco, we went to our hotel, The Mosser. It was situated in the South Est of the town. We took advantage of the beautiful place to put down our stuff and especially to take a good, refeshing shower after these few days in the van. I quickly went to the car rental near our hotel to give our van back.
The next day, we started our visit by taking the Cable-car, one of the most famous attraction in San Francisco. They are old trams that go throught the town streets. We took them, to go to the Fisherman's Warf. It is a beautiful district near the sea. At the Pier 39, we could see lots of sea lions lying there. They were so funny, that we stayed an hour looking at them fighting together. They were making such a noise ! Afterwards, we did some shopping to find lots of souvenirs of this beautiful town. After our lunch, we took the ferry to go to the island called Alcatraz. It's a symbole of life, but also was where the famous Al Capone was held prisonner. This old jail is known as very famous touristic place and I had to order my places a year ago to be able to see it. We did the guided tour of the prison, and admired the view of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. On the island, it was very cold, like was the whole town. The difference of temperatur between Los Angeles and San Francisco was huge, and we were very suprised. After the ferry took us back to San Francisco, we took once again the Cable car, but at night this time. We arrived quite early at our hotel, because we knew that a long day of walk was waiting for us the next day.

We started the day by buying a picnic in a supermarket. Then, we went to Alamo Square by bus. This district became famous by its particular architecture style. There were victorian houses and the six Painted Ladies, wich are six victorian houses ligned up. After this enjoyable walk in this nice district, we went to Twin Peaks. We went up this mountain by bus and we could admire the beautiful view of the whole city. We ate our picnic on the top of the hill, and then went back down by foot. We searched for a bus that could bring us to the Golden Gate. This bridge is the symbol of the town. Unfortunately, we couldn't pay the trip on this bridge, so we decided not to do it. But we still could admire the view on this incredible red bridge. Its height is very impressive, I never saw that before. We finished this day by visiting Lombard Street, an other very famous attraction in San Francisco. We went down this street in a zigzag because it was so steep. We were really scared for the people who took this street with their cars. We finally went back to the hotel and rested a little bit.

The next day, we finished our trip in San Fransico by visiting the oldest distrit in the town : Mission District. The atmospher of this distrcit is very special, because of a strong hispanic influence. We passed by the blue house, wich became famous thanks to the singer Maxime le Forestier. We also passed by different murals wich were all over the district. We ate there, and then went back to the hotel and took our stuff. Then we went to the place where somebody was waiting for us to bring us to our last destination in my Roadtrip in the USA, Yosemite.
Even if I didn't stay very long in San Francisco, it's the most beautiful town. It's not the place where I saw the most interresting things, but the atmospher was the best of all. I would love to go back and spend more time.
